DIY: Affenzahn animal advent calendar

An animal-themed Advent calendar is a wonderful way to countdown to Christmas with cute animals. It is easy to make and can be personalized.

Materials you will need:

24 envelopes
Colored construction paper
clothespins
scissors
glue
felt-tip pens
string
Filling for the envelopes (e.g. small sweets, notes with sayings, vouchers, Pixi books, small toy animals, ...)

Let's get started..

First, we took a close look at the Affenzahn animals on the homepage. Then you can draw the eyes, ears etc. on the craft paper and cut them out. Now stick them onto your envelopes. Make sure that you don't glue over the opening of the envelopes. After all, they should still be able to be opened :-) You can easily draw the remaining details with felt-tip pens. Such as the mouth and whiskers.

Then take the clothespins and number them from 1 to 24 using a felt-tip pen.

Filling the envelopes

Think of small gifts, sayings or riddles to put in the envelopes. These can be sweets, small books, animals, stickers, vouchers or homemade puzzles. You can now fill your envelopes with these little things.

Almost ready!

Now stretch one or more cords across the room, over a door or against a free wall. Make sure that the cords are stable and can hold the envelopes.

Use the clothespins to attach the envelopes to the cord in different colors.

Fine tuning

If you like, you can attach additional decorations such as fir branches, fairy lights or Christmas tree decorations around the cord to create a festive atmosphere.

I have integrated two colorful, child-friendly wallets from Affenzahn into the Advent calendar. That's another very special eye-catcher!
